What's up, sports world?

Got a little break in between speakers and I'm checking out the sports world. Never know what Leon or Greg will ask us in sports check.

*Note: If blogger.com had the cut-and-paste capability, I would place item No. 3 up to No. 1.

Item No. 1: A 69-year-old-man was disqualified from the London Marathon after setting a record for his age group. It was discovered he dropped out in the middle of the race becaus eof injury and walked to the finish, cutting out part of the course. He said he never claimed to have won the age-group race and didn't check the results on the website.

Who does this story sort of remind you of?

Item No. 2: 2009-2010 NBA Rookie of the Year Tyreke Evans was cited for driving more than 100 miles per hour. Police officers even drew their guns and ordered Evans and his passenger of his car because it was tinted.

Usually, people are under the influence of drugs or alcohol when this happens, but Evans wasn't. Does this make it better or worse for Evans? Chime in with your thoughts.

Item No. 3: "The King has spoken to Larry King" was the lede in this Associated Press story. What a great lede?! Anywho, James taped a sit-down interview in his home near Akron today. The segment will air Friday on CNN's "Larry King Live," capping the program's 25th anniversary on the network.

All I know is, I would really like to watch this -- even if King lobs softball questions to the King. Can anyone here, ahem ahem, make it happen?

Item No. 4: Niles Paul, Nebraska's top receiver last season, is suspected of committing his second alcohol-related offense in 14 months. Lincoln police ticketed Paul on suspicion of alcohol possession by a minor and urinating in public last Friday. Paul's blood alcohol leve was .104.

This isn't really news except in Nebraska and the Big 12. I recently graduated from the University of Colorado...
